To the left you have stunning coastlines as far as the eye can see, in front, you have the sea and to the right you have the Parque das Dunas which is a National Park where you can take an exhilarating buggy ride sliding sideways down the sand dunes. Nearby there's beautiful lagoons with various activities including a water park.

For the adrenaline junkies; there's a sand board slide into a lagoon, a bungee seat and surfboard type slide which you have to do at least just once in your lifetime. About a 2-minute drive away and you have an organic vegetable garden where the owner freshly picks many different salad vegetables. 5 minutes the other way you will find an abundance of fruit markets, some even have fresh crabs for sale. As Genipabu is near to the sea you can buy freshly caught fish from the fish markets and fish stalls along the nearby roads.

The beach is approximately a 15-minute walk or a 5 minute drive away. There's ample parking, lots of beach bars and restaurants and the beach even has camels and donkeys to ride should you wish to. it's great for meeting friends for a bite to eat, relaxing in the sun on one of the many sun beds or taking your morning jog. Close to the beach there's a river where you can take a raft to the other side where you can drive along the beautiful coastline. You can take your car and they take it across, go with your bike or just as a foot passenger.

The village has a petrol station along with a few shops which sell almost everything you need from food to beach wear. Approximately 15 minutes' drive away you'll find a shopping mall along with a large supermarket and a Smart fit gym. There's a new bypass road which has recently been built going from the new bridge near Redinha to the bottom of the country road to Genipabu. Work is in progress to take this road all the way along to the BR101 main road which is the road that goes to the airport. The beauty about this road is that an enclosed cycle path has been specially built in the middle of the road. it has curbs either side so it is completely safe. Many people use it to walk, jog or cycle.

The large city of Natal which has many restaurants, gyms and local shops is a 40-minute drive away. There are very large shopping malls with food courts and cinemas that show all the latest up to date movies both in Portuguese and English. Natal is built up of many different areas. About the Area:

Extremoz is a municipality in the state of Rio Grande do Norte in the Northeast region of Brazil.

The Northeast Region of Brazil (Portuguese: Regiao Nordeste do Brasil) is one of the five official and political regions of the country according to the Brazilian institute of Geography and Statistics. For the socio-geographic area see Nordeste (socio-geographic division). Of Brazil's twenty-six states, it comprises nine: Maranhao, Piaui, Ceara, Rio Grande do Norte, Paraiba, Pernambuco, Alagoas, Sergipe and Bahia, along with the Fernando de Noronha archipelago (formerly a separate territory, now part of Pernambuco).

Chiefly known as Nordeste ("Northeast") in Brazil, this region was the first to be discovered and colonized by the Portuguese and other European peoples, playing a crucial role in the country's history. Nordeste's dialects and rich culture, including its folklore, cuisines, music and literature, became the most easily distinguishable across the country. To this day, Nordeste is widely recognized for its history and culture, as well as for its beautiful natural sights and its hot weather.

Nordeste stretches from the Atlantic seaboard in the northeast and southeast, northwest and west to the Amazon Basin and south through the Espinhaco highlands in southern Bahia. it encloses the Sao Francisco River and drainage basin, which were instrumental in the exploration, settlement and economic development of the region. The region lies entirely within the earth's tropical zone and encompasses Caatinga, Atlantic Forest and part of the Cerrado ecoregions. The climate is hot and semi-arid, varying from xeric in Caatinga, to mesic in Cerrado and hydric in the Atlantic Forest.
