About the Area:

Guejar Sierra is a village and municipality located in the province of Granada, Spain. According to the iNE, it had a population of 2,988 at the start of 2010.

The village is situated in the north-western part of the Sierra Nevada mountain range, at an altitude of 1,088 metres.

Guejar Sierra is the perfect base to explore the natural treasures of the Sierra Nevada. Even from the centre of the village, the surrounding mountains dominate the landscape on all sides.

The mountains are rich in wildlife of all types and it is common to see ibex, golden eagles, and many other fauna species on a typical walk in the nearest hills.

Wildflowers and herbs are everywhere and any nature lover can spend hours marvelling at the diversity of the environment.

The climate is mild, and generally warm and temperate. The winters are rainier than the summers. in Guejar Sierra, the average annual temperature is 12.7 °C. About 583 mm of precipitation falls annually.
