Only an hour from Pisa airport, a short drive from the beautiful pedestrianised city of Lucca, a short while from the Mediterranean beaches and ideally situated near the mountains for skiing, the house is set overlooking the central piazza of a rural Italian village from where there are the most spectacular mountain views. Indeed many residents have called this village ' Paradise on Earth'.

The present owners of this property have made this into their only permanent home and consequently have lovingly updated this home into a superior residence.

The property is entered through a doorway made from chestnut, handmade by a local craftsman. On the ground floor is a good sized living/dining room and then there is an archway through to a large and well equipped kitchen including cooker, hob,washing machine, dishwasher and fridge. As the kitchen is so large it can also include dining space if required.

From the kitchen, you walk through to a beautifully sunny garden with a large terrace for outside dining and barbecues and the rest laid to lawn. The garden is stocked with mature Mediterranean shrubs and trees and is a perfect sun trap.

You approach the upper floors via a beautiful marble staircase.

On the first floor, there is a good sized sunny living room which has the benefit of a modern inbuilt log burner. Like a furnace, it's perfect for cosy winter evenings. There is also access from the lounge to a small terrace for enjoying the morning sun.

Also on the first floor, there is a guest bedroom and a shower room with wash basin, WC, and bidet.

Continuing up the marble staircase, you come to the main bedroom with a range of inbuilt wardrobes made out of italian cherrywood. The owners have restored the ceilings to the original red cotto tiles with oak beams to give an authentic italian feel to the property. This rustic look continues into the main bathroom, a room of luxury and comfort. Here there is an attractive hydro massage bath, a double sized walk in shower, WC and beautiful vanity unit made from Roman tiles and arched mirrors. Finally, on the second floor, there is a doorway to a wonderful sun terrace with a beautiful timbered canopy, hand carved by the local builder. This is the perfect place to sit in the evening, drinking a glass of Chianti or Prosecco, watching the sunset.

You then approach the third floor by internal terracotta steps and arrive at a third bedroom together with a study or fourth bedroom. Both of these rooms benefit from skylight windows to make them seem light and airy.
